Capitol Advantage Hosts Congressional Staffers in “Thank you” Reception

Washington, D.C. – Capitol Advantage brought together customers who represent advocates from all walks of life and issues, and the Legislative Correspondence staff who deal with the constituent messages they send on a daily basis to participate in a sponsored reception in the Rayburn House Office Building on November 15, 2007.

This inaugural event centered on the theme "Real Messages, Real People" and included several video screens that associated faces and names with some of the millions of communications sent to Capitol Hill each year. Held in conjunction with the annual Customer Day Conference hosted by the Capitol Advantage family of companies, more than 200 guests attended, including clients from the government relations and grassroots advocacy field as well as House and Senate legislative correspondents and system administrators.

"This reception gave us a chance to recognize the staff and say thank you in person  to the hardest working staffers on the Hill, many of whom feel they have a thankless, and never-ending job., "said Sherry Stanley Witworth, CEO of Capitol Advantage. "As the industry leader of constituent email vendors to Capitol Hill, we’re happy to show our gratitude by acknowledging  these staffers and the important role they play in the democratic process."

A wide variety of groups from the American Legion, who represent war veterans, to those representing banking, transportation, and health policy were in attendance.

“As a former Hill staffer, I am quite familiar with how dedicated these staffers are," said Kenny Ames, Director of Government Outreach and Constituent Communications at Capitol Advantage. "We appreciate the integral role these staffers play, and we reiterate our desire to work with them to ensure that messages from their constituents are delivered most effectively.”

Speakers included Barkley Kern, Executive Vice President of Capitol Advantage, Rob Pierson, Online Communications Director for Congressman Mike Honda and President of the House Systems Administrators Association, and Kenny Ames. The reception was held in the Gold Room on the first floor of Rayburn House Office Building.
