Project Manager

Responsibilities:

Define functional requirements for new products and features based on Market Requirements Documents (MRD) as developed by Product Managers and/or customer requests. Coordinate work with product designers and engineering teams. Manage scope and communicate project progress to stakeholders. Plan product releases with customer services, sales and marketing. Ability to work with sales/marketing to respond to customer RFPs.

Skills / Requirements:

Strong understanding of advocacy, fundraising, and email communications tools used by non-profit organizations, labor unions and trade associations. Excellent understanding of web technologies, html, programming concepts, databases, on-demand software delivery (ASP). 3 or more years working as a project manager for a software company or with non-profits / trade associations in developing and delivering web-based solutions. Formal requirements gathering and documentation training a plus (e.g + use cases, OOAD, RUP, UML modeling). People person that can work with staff across the company. Engineering discussions in the morning, executive presentations in the afternoon. College Degree Required - Majors: Business, Computer Science, MIS a plus (PMI certification good too!)

Interface Designer

Are you a talented Interface Designer that would excel at creating usable and intuitive interfaces for web based applications? Are you organized and able to execute your design concepts into a production environment? If so we would love to talk to you about a position on our product development team.

Responsibilities:

As an Interface Designer you will be responsible for the presentation of web-based applications, form creation and navigation systems. You will be responsible for the creation of usable web experiences and associated character design elements.

Skills / Requirements:

This position requires 2-3 years of experience designing and building user interfaces and user-centric experiences. The candidate should possess the ability to translate their designs into HTML structured pages. Code should be clean and consistent with quality of design. A comprehensive understanding of grid-based systems is preferred. You should have the ability to create adaptable configurable designs while working closely with other designers and various departments within the organization. User Interface Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, HTML / CSS are all required skills. Illustration skills are a bonus.

Requirements Analyst / Project Manager

Responsibilities:

You will have the responsibility to elicit, analyze, specify, document, and manage the needs of project stakeholders, including customers, management and end users. After documentation of the requirements, your focus will shift towards the management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements.

Skills / Requirements:

Two or more years writing requirements. Project management experience a major plus. The ability to lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, understandable and feasible. Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as management, customers, product designers, and engineering) while understanding their needs and asking the right questions to identify essential requirements information. The ability to represent graphical requirements through use of basic screen mockups (primitives) and/or wireframe drawings is desirable.

mod_perl Software Engineer

Are you a crack web transactional developer that enjoys building applications that appear on over 1000 websites including Yahoo!, AOL, USA Today, and The New York Times?  Can you architect highly scalable mod_perl applications?  Are you eager to work in an environment where your creativity and entrepreneurial skills will be valued?  Capitol Advantage is adding to its growing development team, and we would like to talk with you.

Responsibilities:

Develop modular and highly maintainable web applications that process  hundreds of thousands of web transactions daily.  System debugging and bug fixing.  Identify and relieve performance bottlenecks.  Convert functional requirements documents into design specifications.  Design and develop systems according to project schedules.  Unit testing.  Conduct peer code reviews.  Celebrate completed projects.

Skills / Requirements:

This position requires 3-5 years experience with Perl, mod_perl, Apache, SQL, and Linux. Perl and/or mod_perl experience is required, candidates without Perl or mod_perl will not be considered for this position.

Familiarity or experience with daemon programming, Postfix, large-scale mailing applications, email bounce handling, load balanced systems, automated image manipulation, and web client programming is a plus.

The engineer must be able to excel in a methodology-driven organization.  Experience with XP and/or Unified Process development methodologies is a plus.
